This was a good fight but you should watch Pride FC if you wanna see some great fights.

What some people dont realize..charles will to win is at an all time high. He went from being okay with taking a loss when he was in trouble....to giving everything humanly possible to stay in fight and win. People dont understand just how much that switch in mentality can effect a fighter.

Nobody just walks down dustin and justin. Khabib did it but he used his wrestling threat. So to anyone who think that charles is going to take big shots every fight hes in is wrong. Its going to take BIG punchers to hurt him.

@@porkwop9171 I agree 100%. It’s like he recovers quickly but he does take a lot of shots that do hurt him. He’s one of my favorite fighters but eventually someone’s going to take him out if he keeps taking those shots. He’s pretty amazing the way he keeps the relentless pressing with elbows, knees, kicks and strikes and his ground game is exceptional. Notice when he drops an opponent he doesn’t go in with strikes to finish them like all the others do. He goes right to his jujitsu. Nobody like him imo. Another thing is he’s eyesight is POOR. How can you be so damn good when you can’t see for shit?

He dominated Charles in the stand up, but Charles is the best submission artist IN THE HISTORY OF THE UFC. Poirier vs Gaethje 2 would end up like the first one, I think. I know it won't happen soon but I'd rather see either Poirier or Gaethje against Fiziev. That dude's a fucking beast in his own right.

Oliviera is a warrior and his determination is inspiring, something i’ve always loved about Poirier is that he’s never ever been scared of anyone in front of him, that’s one of the most underrated characteristics of a fighter is their courage, respect to both men. p.s. i’m a Dustin fan btw

He was def cheating whether he realized it or not and the Ref never caught it from his angle. I love Charles but if not for the glove hook the fight would have lasted longer. Different outcome? Maybe not. Longer and more intense? Definitely.

This was my first ufc card. Everyone rooting for Dustin but I believed in Charles. Charles has been my favorite fighter since.

As happy as I am for Charles I'm also heartbroken for Dustin man. It's been his dream for so long. Did you see how he reacted to the loss though? Such a class act. Makes me want to cry almost.

Watching this fight a 2nd time around now, I think those body shots, but especially the knees, did a number on Poirier in Round 1. I noticed he took a few big breaths and there was an occasion where he turned away from Charles. He took the round but I suspect he was losing steam fast. Once Charles put him on the mat in the 2nd, the jiujitsu might have depleted those remaining reserves forcing him to just stay on his back and conserve.

I think Dustin had some chances to finish Charles in round 1 but those knees had stopped him. Dustin could made more pressure, raised some combo to end the champ but he had to run away and took some deep breath because of damage from the knee.

Charles is one of my favorite fighters...but i feel so bad for dustin i always wished he got gold, the man has done so much and has one of the best if not the beat resumes in the LW division...total warrior and dawg

What a fight. Listen to that crowd! Both will be remembered in the history of this sport

I love how at the end of the fight the respect level is so high for each other the fight was amazing it was like watching dragon ball z. Goku always loves a good fight and encourages his opponents to get stronger

Dustin poirer is just overrated . He almost got finished by chandler, Dan hooker and beat up a washed Conor mcgregor. And beat a short notice max Holloway

Aside the great fights from these competitors Oliveira, Justin, Dustin, khabib and so many more is their respect and sportsmanship towards one another... You got to love it

@@SAVAGEBR Até concordo. Mas ele já bate forte. Só que o Jiu Jitsu dele é do nível dos Mestres Rickson, Royce, Wallid, Royler. O "inimigo" entra no octógono sabendo que vai ser finalizado não interessa o que ele faça. Só se entrar com um 45 na luta.. Isso já dá aquele pânico por dentro. O cara é a sucuri chegando de noite..

У него стиль такой, постоянный прессинг. Не боится идти в размен, дает вымахаться сопернику, потом уничтожает. Голова работает отлично, даже после сильных пропущенных ударов, четко знает, что и как делать.

Выстоять после таких попаданий в голову и продолжать атаковать в стойке и потом еще и переводы делать это, конечно, уровень. По выносливости Чарльз не уступает Тони, но при этом еще и дерется умнее. Тони расшвыривался во все стороны и бился в открытую, вытаскивая в основном на выносливости и нестандартных выкрутасах, Оливейра более грамотно выбирает моменты, когда бросаться вперед. Более универсального бойца в легком весе просто нету.

Челюсть у него крепкая, но если он так будет рубится с Гэджи, то это будет идиотская идея… тут челюсть не проканает, хоть у него и офигенная стойка, он оч сильно открывается, а с таким рубакой как гэджи и с таким ведением боя можно очутиться в вальхалле

@@dmnd173 problem is that Charles had to know English. If he had better English people would know him more, empathize, and like the guy. Brazilian fighters are so silly not training their English as much as their fighting skills, because in UFC you only get money if you bring ppv, and the main market is the US. Look at Paulo Costa, people loves him in the US, his English is not the best, but the guy tries and his trash talk is top notch. Hope Charles start being respected as he should be.

Каждый раз я кайфую когда смотрю последние бои Оливейра ! за исключением боя с Махачевым. Там Чарли был сам не свой . Симпатии понятно на чьей стороне ))
